How is solar energy being used as a renewable energy source? Solar power comes in various forms as a renewable energy source. Photovoltaic (PV) panels directly convert sunlight into electricity for immediate use or storage in batteries. Solar thermal tech harnesses the sun''s energy to heat water or fluids for home heating or electricity

"The high specific power of MicroLink''s solar sheets enables the Zephyr to fly uninterrupted in the stratosphere, which would not be possible with lower performance solar cell technology. This will further extend the capability and utility of the Zephyr platform for our customers."
MADAGASCAR . Madagascar is an island situated 400 km off the east coast of Africa, separated from the mainland by the Mozambique Channel. According to data from 2020, around a third of people living in Madagascar have access to electricity — and almost all

To date, Madagascar produces 2% of its electricity from photovoltaic solar energy. At the same time, Madagascar remains one of the worst performers on the African continent when it comes to access to electricity, with 75% of the population lacking this essential service. Households connected to the national grid have to cope with load shedding
Madagascar is the largest island state in Africa and the fourth largest island in the world. With the equivalent of 440 US dollars a year1, the annual gross national income per capita is far below the average of the other African states south of the Sahara.Only about 15% of the Madagascan have an electricity connection, in the rural areas less than one out of ten persons2.
