German startup Sinn Power has developed a modular maritime platform able to generate renewable energy from waves, wind and solar sources. Starting later this summer, it hopes to offer solar...
The SINN Power floating structure provides regions that are affected by harsh maritime environment access to renewable energy and ocean energy solutions. SINN Power now offers a turn-key solution for energy project developers
The floating platform uses a combination of wave, wind, and solar energy to harness renewable energy on the open seas, Sinn says. The company has been testing the structure, which has attracted investors, energy experts, scientists, and government officials from all over the world to Heraklion, the largest city on the Greek Island of Crete.
Using waves, wind, and the sun, the SINN Power floating structure, which can supposedly withstand waves up to six metres high (19.6 ft), is designed to give coastal regions easy access to clean energy solutions.
SINN Power''s OHP can be used to replace Diesel generators on remote islands or to complement large offshore wind parks around the world. The smallest possible unit is 24m x 24m with an installed power of 80kWp and the largest standard OHP is 120m x 120m and in its maximum layout accumulates to an installed power of 5MWp.
The SINN Power WEC: Floating platform for customer use Simple integration of electrical wave force absorption (possible) Easy to transport in ISO-Containers and easy to install (modular) MotorDrive DC/DC AC Inverter Supercap & battery Modules of the SINN PowerTrain Extremly robust and waterproof (IP68) Grid and/or off-grid operation Optional combination of all PT
